Star Trek: All Our Everydays

This was our second and final jab at the billion-dollar industry that is Star Trek. The reason we took a second shot at it was that we found a good--and short; short is important--anonymous spoof on a website. The actual ten-minute short came out very well. We took care and planning in the filming of this (mostly) and actually rehearsed more than usual. Wow!

Credits (selected roles):

Kirk: Claire
Spock: Lindsay
McCoy: Katie
Scotty: Megan
Uhura: Lisa
Sulu: Keith
Chekov: Chekov the stand-me-up cardboard poster person
Chekov (voice): Lindsay
Red Shirts: Lisa and Megan
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Keith
HAL 9000: Megan

The Script:

Unique among the G.D.I. scripts, this was not written by one of us, but instead taken from an anonymous script from a website. Basically, it's a brief summary of your typical Star Trek episode. All the cliches are included. Throughout the script there's a "narrator" in brackets commenting on the frequency of red shirt death and so forth. For the filmed version, the convention of one character (not always the same one, and sometimes more than one) taking on the role of "commentator" while the others freezing was adopted. It worked surprisingly well.

We did take pictures during the production, however, we didn't take very many and until someone sits down and looks through them and possibly does some more scanning, we recommend that you visit the Star Trek: The Undiscovered Episode page if you want to see picture of us dressed up like gomers--er, Star Trek characters.
