Charlotte, 2005
After Claire and John moved into their pineapple-reminiscent house in Charlotte, she and Lisa and I planned to get together in the fall as a kind-of middle school and GDI reunion and obviously to hang out and be silly. We did this over a long weekend, I think October 15-17.

We looked around downtown Charlotte and in Claire's neck of the 'burbs. At one point, we went to this sandwich-themed restaurant and John took our picture.

Fall wasn't really in full swing, but there were active pumpkin patches. Here we are raiding it for pumpkins for Claire's porch.

And we went frisbee golfing, which became very silly. We aren't the best frisbee golfers in the world. Here I think we're trying to decide where the course is.

Claire and her mad frisbee golf skills.

A wise approach.

We also visited...um, I forget its name. It was a privately owned nature park outside Charlotte where part of The Last of the Mohicans was filmed. There were trails and vistas and such.

Claire told us how the rocks were formed.

Part of the trail to the big, dramatic waterfall.

The big, dramatic waterfall.

After the hike, we drove to Ashville and had dinner at a cool vegetarian restaurant. I had a tasty gyro with some kind of flavored tofu instead of lamb in it. And that, I think was it in a nutshell. It's been a couple years, so no excrutiating details this time!
