El Road Trip to NYC and Thereabouts

New York City Pictures

July 13, Keith and I leave for New York City to visit our friend Lisa who has a job there and an apartment in Jersey City. We arrive on the fourteenth around nine and view Jersey City from Lisa's window.

The next morning reveals our sleeping arrangement and the living room of Lisa's abode. She also had a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom and a closet.

The view from Lisa's apartment by day. You can't see the docks of Jersey City and Bayonne in the distance, but they are there, trust me.

Saturday it rained and though we spent most of our time indoors at the Museum of Natural History, we got tickets for a show, Forbidden Broadway, and ventured down Broadway. Here you see Times Square at the end of the street.

After the show we returned to Jersey and got a view of Manhattan, just a few blocks from Lisa's place.

First thing Sunday we went back to the Manhattan overlook in daylight.

Then we rode the Staten Island Ferry, and this is the view coming back to Manhattan, from the side of the boat you can't see the Statue of Liberty from. That's Brooklyn you see there on the right.

Then, after Chinatown and Little Italy we made it to Central Park. Note the construction of an ice rink.

Hey . . . you're taking my picture, aren't you?

A friendly-looking woman who we figured we could run down and tackle if she ducked off with my camera obliged us by taking a group picture.

All throughout the city these variously-painted cows had been appearing. Lisa was disturbed because this was supposed to be a Chicago thing. Here's Lisa, experienced horsewoman, trying her hand at a cow.

Keith and I impale our heads on the horns of a cow.
