Todd Alan Johnson: Even More Pictures
Hyding Out and Eating People
Through the years, and after epic adventures not unlike those experienced by the protagonists of a Norse saga, we have now accumulated more pictures--and (finally) they're not from Les-Misérables. So on to new pictures. Of course one of the best things about being an actor is that you get to look different for a living, so of course with every new role comes a new possibility for looking like someone else, possibly even John Travolta. Therefore, it would behoove us to keep up with ongoing developments, all in the noble cause of visitor edification.
Continuing the Western theme that originated with The Urban Cowboy, here is a backstage picture, sent to us by the denizens of the North Carolina Theater from a production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, a very silly musical about the blithe and happy lives of Texas prostitutes. Todd Alan Johnson played a sheriff-cum wacko crusader whose special power--in the era of comic book-based movies, everyone must have a special power--was the ability to shine a flashlight wherever and whenever he wanted. Texas never looked so nutty.
In the early 90s the Ken Hill version of Phantom of the Opera toured the U.S., and Todd Alan Johnson appeared as the Phantom. Or, that's what we are supposed to believe; with a mask being involved, we must ask ourselves, might that not actually be John Travolta? Or even someone else randomly pretending to be Todd Alan Johnson in order to give out autographs. No, really, there's a story....
Here is the first of two Jekyll & Hyde pictures that were sent to us by a random kind-hearted internet surfer. It's from one of now three productions Todd Alan Johnson has performed in. Here Henry Jekyll gazes at his fiancee, and she looks back, wondering if perhaps he doesn't look like "that guy from Grease" after all.
And here is the second donated picture. It seems that every one who talks about Jekyll & Hyde mentions the "dual role" of Jekyll and Hyde. But we're different! We're going to mention that if we didn't already have a survey, we'd ask visitors to speculate on whether that vial contains cherry Kool-Ade or Hawaiian Punch.
From a Boston-area newspaper comes a picture of Todd Alan Johnson as the title character in Sweeney Todd, in which he (and, seen on the left, co-star Nancy Carroll, and probably everyone else in the show, really) got to pretend to eat people.
To conclude with we present two non-stage pictures, this one with Lindsay and Keith, who are trying not to look like John Travolta also...or are they?
And this is the head shot that was referred to on "Todd Alan Johnson, Not Through the Years Page Two." Well, that settles that. Maybe.
