I have given the issue some thought, and have found it difficult to decide, hampered as I am by my natural tendency not to see resemblences, or even sometimes to recognize people. Which makes my curation of this site pretty darn ironic. But in the end, I have to say, no, you do not look like Kristen Johnston. You do, however, bear a strong resemblance to her from certain perspectives (especially after setting up the pictures for this site). Specifically, your mouth, cheeks and eyebrows are similar to Johnston's. But normally I do not see the resemblence. You look like Katie to me. This doesn't mean, though, that I don't think you and Kristen Johnston couldn't star in Sideshow together.... Certainly you look a LOT more like Kristen Johnston than Todd Alan Johnson looks like John Travolta....

(Yes) The other night I flipped on the TV and saw...the series finale of Third Rock from the Sun. I know Katie. I have experienced her in person. I was amazed how like her the woman on the TV was. I've voted on this before, but I was compelled to do so again; while they bear some generally similar facial features, the mannerisms and voice of Kristen Johnston on the show occasionally mirrored those of the Katie we all know and love. Katie is an overhand gesture-er. Kristen Johnston executed some hand gestures that were much like Katie's. She also stood in a similar stance at times, probably because they are both tall and sometimes need to look down on people when speaking to them. But the amazing thing was the voice. Now, when speaking normally, they do not sound alike, but every so often Kristen Johnston would change her inflection and lower her voice a bit and she sounded almost just like Katie does when she makes the same alterations in her speech. It was uncanny. I could have told the difference in a blind test, I think, but I was still mightily impressed. The effect of Katie-ness was especially pronounced when I looked away frmo the TV so I couldn't see that it was Kristen Johnston who was talking. So, Katie does indeed bear likenesses to Kristen Johnston that extend beyond the realm of appearances (My mom agrees with me.) I'll have to razz her about it more. :-)

It could be far worse. When I was young, (I am 107 years old in May...okay, 47...) I was always getting picked up by women because they thought that I looked like Keith Richard. Now THAT'S a problem, as much theirs as mine! About fifteen years ago, a teenage girl working at a donut shop told me that I looked like her favorite singer...Howard Jones. That is depressing. If you like, we can get together and make a Kristen Johnston/Howard Jones tour. I am sure that the madding crowd will flock to that one.
